Street rendering_Ankeny Row_lowerresWelcome! Ankeny Row is an urban infill “pocket” community that strongly emphasizes people, community and our common ecosystem.

Set on a once-partially vacant 12,600-square-foot lot in Southeast Portland’s Buckman neighborhood, Ankeny Row includes six craftsman-style townhomes, a shared common building and a garden and courtyard. Its proximity to stores, restaurants, parks and public transit mean that Ankeny Row residents can live a car-free lifestyle if they choose.

All of the buildings were designed as Passive Houses, utilizing a combination of super-insulated and airtight construction, heat-recovery ventilation and passive solar heating. As a result, the buildings’ heating loads have been reduced by 90% compared to typical new homes. The buildings will produce all of their own energy from rooftop solar arrays, allowing them to achieve net-zero energy performance.

Designed and built by Portland-based Green Hammer, Ankeny Row is the flagship Portland project for the Earth Advantage Net Zero & EA NZ Ready program.
